I love being able to reduce, reuse & recycle, and this DIY flameless candle holder tutorial lets you do just that. The original tutorial at Heart.Love.Weddings called for buying new mason jars. But I would like to suggest that you use any glass jars that you may have around the house or at your business that you can re-purpose. These could be pasta sauce jars, honey jars, scented candle glass containers- literally anything will work!

Ok so let’s get into the tutorial shall we 🙂

Supplies Needed:

  • 1 Glass Jar
  • 1 Baby Food Jar
  • Painter’s Tape
  • Sharp knife
  • Black Chalkboard Spray Paint
  • Chalk
  • Baker’s Twine or other rustic twine
  • Flameless Tea Light Candles

Directions:

  1. Place a strip of the painter’s tape on the jars and draw a heart (or any other shape).
  2. Using your knife, cut around the heart and remove the excess tape, leaving the heart taped to the jar.
  3. Take your jar and your spray paint to a well ventilated area (meaning outside) and spray the jar(s) evenly.
  4. Let the jars dry.  It won’t take long.
  5. Once dry, take the sharp point of your knife and carefully remove the painter’s tape heart.
  6. Once thoroughly dry, use the chalk to trace little dotted lines around the heart.
  7. Take the baker’s twine and wrap around the top part of the jar.
  8. Add in your flameless tea light candle and your done!

It is just so super simple and yet soo effective! You could write something on the jars if you’d like as well (or instead of the dotted lines). Best thing of all is that if you don’t like what you added with your chalk you can just wipe it off and start again! Sweet!

If you wanted to get super creative you could paint with fluro colours onto the chalkboard black. Go wild!
